Today in human geo we got our test back, even though I knew what I already got. I was glad we still got our test back so that I can know what I got wrong, and answer those questions correctly on the exam. The questions I got wrong were either stupid mistakes or I just didn't know the answer. Then after we went around the room and read and answered each question we got our tests back from like 2 weeks ago. I was happy we got those back because it will help us study for our mid terms which are in five days. I have been studying for the human geo exam because I want an A on the exam. I think if I keep studying like I am I will be find and will do well on the exam.

Today in class we took our test on Cultural Geography and World Religions. The test was a challenge because I didn't study and I really should have. My grade was not as well as I would like it to be but I deserved the grade I got. After we saw our test and saw our grades. I wish I would've studied and did better.

Cultural Geography

Examples: Language, religion, and ethnic heritage

Language:

- arabic unites the arab world
- spanish unites the hispanic world
- Brazil is the only South American nation that does not speak spanish. It speaks portuguese.
- Canada is a bilingual nation. They have provinces instead of states. French and English are their official languages
- Switzerland has multiple languages but very little conflict between the groups
- English is now considered the world language and is used for most business transactions around the world.

Ethnic Heritage:

- In Yugoslavia, many ethnic groups were made into one country. (Serbs, Croats, Bosnians, Albanians)
- When strong leadership died out, the different groups died out. A Civil War broke out and they now have different countries now
- In Rowanda and Burundi in Africa, 2 ethnic groups are dominant, the Tutsis and the Hutus
- Hutus are dominant in one and they persecute the Tutsis, and the Tutsis are dominant in the other.
- And the Tutsis persecute the Huhtus. It has lead to almost constant war between the groups
- The U.S. and Switzerland have peacefully merged ethnic groups in their counties
- Korea and Japan have one ethnic group
- On the island of Cyprus, the Greeks and Turks try to gain control
